Netesse KK helps Japanese companies export overseas using the web.
We do this predominantly through our English language e-commerce platform HanbuyJapan.com, which markets Japanese products to the world through Japan’s first international drop-shipping website. For companies who require extra assistance, we also provide added value services such as end-to-end communication assistance, contract negotiation, through to full representation for their foreign clients.
Leveraging this know-how, we also provide additional e-commerce related services, such as creating bilingual e-commerce solutions, and SEO/SEM for English languages websites.
Our focus is on assisting small to medium sized Japanese companies who, although they have created very high-quality products, have never had the technical or linguistic ability to fully utilize the web to export overseas. In this way, we hope to stimulate the Japanese economy both in the cities and also in more rural areas.
Why is this necessary for Japan, and why now?
Since the “Lehman shock” and the subsequent recession, the structure of the Japanese economy has begun to change rapidly. Japan is no longer able to rely on its traditional industries such as cars and electronics, as emerging Asian powers such as China and also Korea are becoming more and more competitive, and also due to a decline in demand in the US. But Japan can also not rely on domestic demand for growth, so they must continue to export. And online sales are growing around the world.
However, Japan has been a notoriously closed country and culture, and has had many issues in the past exporting overseas. Although the big corporates have been relatively successful, SMEs have had limited success, often due simply to a lack on technical or linguistic ability. In fact though, most of Japan’s innovation and new creation come from these SMEs, and something that will likely never change is their attention to detail and quality, which Japan is admired for around the world.
Our objective is to help these SMEs succeed in exporting their products and services to the world using the web and the newest technologies, thus helping to re-stimulate the Japanese economy and maintain Japan’s competitiveness.
